“Drunkenness is nothing but voluntary madness.”

Description
Appearance
In his prime, something he enjoyed for far more years than he should have, Gerald was an impressive specimen, with a head of rakish hair and the blessed combination of height and stoutness without heftiness. He was a college athlete, and maintained his physique into his fifties and sixties in seeming defiance of time itself. His hair was dark and thick, ending in a widows peak, and his manner at once powerful and charming. An effortless center of attention, and more than that a ready friend to all, he was difficult to dislike and easy to admire, even for his foes. That man is all but gone.
In his place stands the Gerald of today, a withered husk with life breathed into it only in the vitae that once more courses through his veins. His hair is stringy, prematurely graying, and steadily receding. His face has a sunken appearance from his rapid aging. His strength is long gone, and his hands shakes—not always from the booze. Even his eyesight has suffered, and glasses became a new companion even as his old ones departed.

History
A former ghoul to Francesca Dumont and Rebecca DeMatthews, Gerald Bishop was a relative latecomer to Caroline Malveaux-Devillers’ ghouls, with significant experience with other domitors and a history of both instability and unreliability. Caroline’s approach to Gerald was cautious, slow, and incremental. She valued his experience, but was wary of the opportunity for him to either fail or betray her. As a result she used him sparingly, and kept him insulated from many of her more sensitive operations, focused on the set up and organization of ‘her’ firm in his own name. He was successful enough in that role, but his life was declared forfeit as part of the punishment Prince Vidal levied for Caroline’s failure to coordinate Claire Malveaux’s death with the sheriff. He was chosen by name by the sheriff from among her ghouls as one of two to die by his hand.
