“She seems quite knowledgeable, but I wonder what troubles her so. Has she stared too deep into the abyss?”
“YOU HOLD YOUR BLACK ASS THE FUCK THERE!”
—Sangria to Julien Derneville upon the latter robbing her store
This woman is a study in contrasts: black hair, black clothes, black eyeliner, black lipstick, and a great deal of white makeup over already pasty pale skin. A pentagram amulet hangs from a thin chain around her neck.
Sangria Myst (likely not her real name) is the proprietor of Wycked Wishes, an occult bookshop in the French Quarter. Notable for her take-no-shit attitude and refusing to sell knickknacks to tourists, Sangria was recently caught up within the All-Night Society’s intrigues when she obtained an occult tome desired by Clan Tremere and Baron Cimitiere. Sangria originally intended to sell it for her own profit, but her intentions were foiled when Julien Derneville stole the tome out from under her nose, then used an obvious Discipline in front of her when caught in the act by Clea Bonney.
Antoine Savoy soon learned of the Masquerade breach and dispatched agents to deal with the situation, bringing Julien and Sangria back to his headquarters in the Evergreen Plantation. Julien was given a sip of the Toreador’s vitae, while Sangria was carried off by Savoy’s followers to a fate unknown. A subsequent divination performed by Julien revealed that she was still alive but in significant physical and emotional pain. Unfortunately for Sangria, the Tremere met Final Death at the hands of Lidia Kendall before he could make amends for the harm he inadvertently brought upon her.
Sangria was last seen giving lessons in occult lore to George Smith, evidently needing the money enough to spend her time satisfying a rich hotelier’s idle curiosity. She suffered from shakes and had taken to heavy smoking and drinking.
